Old fountain/washhouse

A fountain once used as a washhouse, whose waters are widely believed to have healing properties, particularly for relieving heaviness and stomach aches. It remains a tradition for many people to go there to collect water for making certain stews, such as chickpea stew or cocido. The fountain consists of a small white structure with a single-pitched roof and an ‘L’-shaped wall. On the southern wall there is a rectangular basin with two modern taps, whilst on the eastern side there are three washbasins, connected to the main basin by a small channel.
