Patio Hotel, Santo Domingo

A historic hotel with a central cloister, a façade of masonry and brick, and balconies featuring mouldings and a triangular pediment – ideal for tourists.

The former Convent of San Francisco de Paula, attached to the church, was once a convent of the Minims, built in the 17th century; following its confiscation in the 19th century, it was used as a Civil Guard barracks. At the end of the 20th century, it was renovated and converted into a hotel. The building is organised around a central cloister. Its façade is constructed of masonry and brick, framing the rectangular openings that make up its two façades. Balconies and closed sections, framed by mouldings and crowned by a split triangular pediment, alternate on the first floor of the main façade, where the entrance is also located, marked by a simple stone linteled doorway.
