Julio Burell Municipal Public Library (Former Granary)

A historic 18th-century building with its original arcades, housing unique engravings and works by local artists. Free entry; opening hours are the same as t...

This building was one of the extensions added to the castle in the 18th century. At that time, it served as the granary, a municipal building used to store grain. In 1989, it was restored and converted into the Municipal Library, whilst retaining its original structure and the interior arcades. In this library, in addition to a large number of volumes and original manuscripts such as criminal records and financial statements, we can view a portfolio of engravings by the local artist Antonio Quintana, created in collaboration with the Nobel Prize winner Vicente Alexandre, or *Los Episodios Nacionales* signed by the author himself, as well as works by distinguished figures from Iznaje such as Cristóbal de Castro.
