The trail reaches the River Bailón, which winds its way through oolitic limestone. From here until it reaches Zuheros, the route offers a variety of fluviokarst features linked to the dynamics of this gorge carved out by the river. Particularly noteworthy is the torrential nature of the Bailón, with large boulders in its bed, the lapiaz on the limestone slopes and the associated scree slopes, the vertical limestone walls, the caves and the speleothems, some of which are truly spectacular, such as the Cueva del Fraile
