Fraile's Cave

Fraile's Cave

The cave takes its name from a cluster of stalagmites that resembles a monk’s hood.
Situated in the heart of the Bailón River Canyon, this cave was formed by the erosion caused by the river over thousands of years. It is an underground formation which, as a result of this process, has been exposed to the elements. It is currently located about a hundred metres from the river’s surface course.
