Zuheros Astronomical Observatory
The gateway to the universe
Featuring a 4-metre dome and a 12-inch telescope, the observatory is situated in an area designated as a Starlight Reserve due to its complete lack of light pollution. As well as observing the planets of the solar system, visitors can view nebulae, galaxies and more. This unique experience also includes observing the sky with the naked eye. During the day, it is also possible to view the brightest star in the sky (our Sun).
“Juan Fernández Cruz” Museum of Folk Customs and Arts
Housed in a historic building, this museum displays over 3,000 artefacts illustrating traditional life and crafts, and is a cultural landmark in the region.
The Cueva de los Murciélagos Ecomuseum
Interpretation centre in Zuheros, ideal for enhancing a visit to a nearby cave, with opening hours varying by season.
Bat Cave
Set on a mountainside, it features limestone formations, cave paintings and archaeological remains. Its 700 steps and the Organ Hall are particular highlights.
Subbetic Fauna
Located in Zuheros, it offers encounters with Iberian wildlife, birds of prey displays and an educational farm. Ideal for learning about and enjoying nature.
