THE ALBERTI ROUTE
Discover Rute through the eyes of Rafael Alberti: the streets, parks and anecdotes of the poet who lived and wrote in this town in the 1920s
Rute welcomes you to explore, guided by
the brilliant poet of the Generation of ’27, its streets,
parks and places of special interest.
This cultural tour, which begins at the
Tourist Office, owes its significance to Rafael Alberti, who lived
in this town in 1924 and 1925, wrote three of
his novels here, and received the news of his National
Poetry Prize here.
Alberti soaked up the hospitality and unique character of the people of Rute
So the anecdotes and experiences he had here
will be the thread running through a story that will never cease to amaze you.
Come and wander the streets of Lino el del peo, la encerrada, el
prisionero or el albardonero. And let yourself be charmed by the homes
of the great poet, lost in the nooks and crannies of this town.
Rafael Alberti remained bound for life to these streets, to the
landscapes that surround us, to the hospitality of its people,
to the local produce of Rute and the hard work of ADEBO in defence
of the donkey
