PR-A 342 - Iznájar Under Water

A FAM-approved trail where you can explore floodplains, centuries-old olive groves and Aleppo pine forests, whilst enjoying unforgettable views of the reserv...
Leaving the first urban section behind, the path winds through areas prone to flooding from the Iznájar reservoir and through olive groves, always skirting the very edge of the water’s surface, leading to the Las Cabreras road, where, heading back towards Iznájar, we reach the junction with the Cuesta Colorá. Here, the path turns right towards El Hachuelo, taking the Camino de El Espinar on the left, heading towards the water treatment plant through Aleppo pine forests, running parallel to the Arroyo de Priego until it emerges at Fuente Nueva. Along the route, you can enjoy birdwatching and also take in the sea of centuries-old olive trees that cover the Iznájar area, from which one of the world’s finest extra virgin olive oils is later produced – the economic backbone of the municipality and of our cuisine.
