The stage begins on the Llano Madero track, near Prado de Rute and the Mojardín bridge. After crossing the A-339 road linking Lucena and Priego de Córdoba, the route follows a narrow track running parallel to the Pontoncillo stream, nestled in a small valley carved out by water erosion on clayey terrain. The path climbs gradually towards the Campillo area, where it crosses the Greenway before reaching the Cagatrompo farmhouse. Next to this old farmhouse stands a traditional threshing floor, which offers a magnificent natural viewpoint over the Sierra de Cabra. From here, the views of the Picacho stand out, one of the most iconic peaks of this mountain range. The route continues along the Zambra path, flanked by scattered centuries-old holm oaks that provide shade and character to the landscape. Further on, you reach the so-called Valley of the Fossils, a geological site of great interest where the Ammonítico Rosso facies of the Subbético outcrops, characterised by its reddish hues and abundance of marine fossils, particularly ammonites. The route continues alongside the Alamedal stream, also known as the Losilla stream, passing by the ruins of the farmhouse of the same name. Finally, after passing through the Camino de las Machucas and crossing the CO-6213 road, the trail joins the Camino de Priego and ends in the town of Lucena.
