The stage begins in the village of Zambra, next to the A-331 road, and initially follows the same route as the previous stage along the road from Lucena to Zambra via Granadilla. Further on, the route turns off onto the right-of-way path until it joins the Las Salinas road (CP-4) and a short stretch of the Cabra to Rute path. The route then continues along the Cuzcuñana track, passing the farmhouse of the same name and the El Vado restaurant, where it crosses the A-331. From there, the route continues along the Vado municipal track, crosses the River Anzur and joins the Astorga track, from which there are magnificent views of the Sierra de Rute and the Salado stream ravine. After passing through the hamlets of Palomares and Las Piedras, the trail continues along paths through olive groves to the farmhouse and spring of Vichira. At this point, it joins the GR-7 E-4, a European trail connecting Tarifa with Athens. The route then enters the Sierra Horconera and subsequently the Sierra de Rute, passing through pine forests, ravines and steep slopes with excellent panoramic views, such as those from the Mirador de la Palomina viewpoint. Finally, the stage ends in the town centre of Rute.
