Aguas del Genil Trail

Aguas del Genil Trail

A circular walk along the River Genil, linking the riverbank, a historic watermill, a pine forest and viewing points in one of Benamejí’s most varied routes.
The route starts on Calle Río, near the Mirador de La Grieta viewpoint, and descends towards the River Genil. A few minutes’ walk on brings you to the ruins of La Aceña, a former 16th-century flour mill, after which the route continues along the riverbank to the Hernán Ruiz II Bridge. After crossing the N-331 road, the route enters a pine forest and ends by returning to the area around La Grieta. It combines hydraulic heritage, riverside scenery and forest sections, making it a very well-rounded route for hiking.
