Situated at an altitude of 975 m, this spring is the main water source that collects water from the extensive karst formations of the Allanadas de Zuheros, located 1 km to the south, on land belonging to the El Navazuelo estate. The original spring measures approximately 3 m long by 1 m wide. It is built of stones bonded with cement and is in a poor state of repair. Next to it is a second well, enclosed by a metal gate. This spring supplies water to the village of Zuheros via a pipeline whose manholes are visible all along the road leading to Zuheros. Despite this diversion of its flow, the portion left for watering livestock does not usually dry up in summer.
The spring and its surroundings underwent a major restoration in the autumn of 2023, carried out by the Regional Ministry of the Environment, which involved repairing the walls and underground conduits, as well as the drainage system. Reforestation was also carried out using various deciduous species, such as ash and hackberry trees, which enhance the beauty of this iconic spot.
