The stage begins in the town centre of Lucena, specifically on Calle Rute and Camino Viejo de Rute, following a livestock track of the same name for the first section. The route then turns off towards the Camino de la Molina de Bonillas. Once in the Rute area, the route passes by the farmhouse and the Gayombillas spring before reaching a junction where you take the Granadillas track. This was the site of the famous thousand-year-old holm oak of Rute, which disappeared in 2022 and was considered one of the great natural monuments of the province of Córdoba. This remarkable tree reached extraordinary dimensions: it cast a shadow of around 600 square metres, stood 17.5 metres tall and had a base diameter of 6.4 metres, with an estimated age of between 400 and 450 years. The Granadillas path then joins the Las Salinas road (CP-4), which leads towards Los Llanos de Don Juan. Further on, the route continues along the Vereda de Cabra to Rute and, finally, takes a dirt track through olive groves leading to the Rute hamlet of Zambra, entering via Calle Ubada.
