The ironworks and hut at La Cañada la Laguna

The ironworks and hut at La Cañada la Laguna

It was a round structure situated in the lowest part of the Cañada de la Laguna, on its northern side.
It is a structure with an imposing wall some 2 m high, which stands out against the peaceful meadows in which it is situated. Its cobbled floor is still in good condition, serving as a reminder of where the wheat and barley sown on the fertile lands of this ravine were once threshed. It takes its name from the former owner of the farmstead on which it stands. In 2024, it underwent a major restoration by the Mancomunidad de la Subbética, alongside the hut of the same name, which is preserved some 80 metres to the south-west of this site. Given its location and state of preservation, this is undoubtedly one of the most picturesque threshing floors still standing in the entire municipality of Zuheros.
