Pingorote
The Pingorote rock formation is a natural wonder that captivates visitors with its imposing appearance and geological history. It rises like an eternal guardian beside a sharp bend in the road leading to Brácana, offering the finest panoramic view of Almedinilla, whose triangular town centre, bathed in midday light, stretches gently, sheltered by rugged mountain ranges and ash-coloured olive groves. At the base of the triangle, orchards flourish, fertilised by the River Caicena, a landscape which the village overlooks from the balcony of the Paseíllo.
El Pingorote de Almedinilla is also an ideal spot for photography enthusiasts, as every angle and perspective offers a unique opportunity to capture the essence and beauty of this natural monument.
Although architectural renewal has reduced the number of traditional houses with picturesque chimneys, Almedinilla still retains fascinating corners, the result of the harmony between the white façades and the rugged mountain ranges that shelter the hamlet to the south-west, such as the Llanás, the Castillejos and the Cerro de la Cruz, the repository of the town’s Iberian roots.
If you have the chance to visit, you will be captivated by its uniqueness and treated to an unforgettable experience in the heart of nature.
