Camponubes

Camponubes

A historic village with a medieval tower and an old cattle track, ideal for exploring and enjoying its mining heritage linked to red ochre.

There is documentary evidence of the village’s existence in the 18th century, when it was referred to by the romantic name of Campo de Nubes. It lies on the banks of the Colada del Camino Real de Córdoba a Granada – now a livestock track – and in the shadow of the medieval watchtower of El Morchón. One of the main activities carried out in the area around this village was the mining of red ochre.
