“Juan Fernández Cruz” Museum of Folk Customs and Arts
Housed in a building constructed in 1912 and subsequently adapted to accommodate the exhibition it now hosts. The Museum of Folk Customs and Arts is dedicated to his mentor, Dr Juan Fernández Cruz, an apothecary by profession. Thanks to his invaluable lifelong work, he was always on the lookout whenever someone from the village or surrounding area was about to throw away any old items. He wisely collected these objects so that they could be displayed to the public in this unique venue.
There are over three thousand items on display. These are divided into twenty-eight exhibition spaces grouped into four main areas: Agriculture and Livestock, Liberal Professions, Craft Trades, and Rooms in Zuheros Homes. All of these span the four floors of the building.
Contemplating the way of life of not so long ago or the tools with which people carried out their work makes this museum a landmark at provincial and regional level.
