Roman pottery workshop
The study of this site has shed light on the workings of this type of workshop, which played a strategic role in the Roman world, not only for the preservation of foodstuffs (amphorae, dolia, and tableware and kitchenware), but also for the construction and commercial sectors.
It was a Roman pottery workshop, comprising several clearly defined areas. A first section consisting of seven kilns, a second section with an open rectangular space serving as a service area, and a third section, situated at a higher level, comprising a hall that would have functioned as a pre-drying area or storage space. It dates from the second half of the 1st century BC to the second half of the 2nd century AD. It features eight kilns and two interpretative rooms, equipped with specific facilities for people with visual impairments.
