Streets of Flowers

Calles estrechas y empedradas con murales y macetas azules adornan un recorrido lleno de color y vida, destacando por su belleza y participación vecinal.

A stroll through narrow, cobbled streets, with hidden corners that surprise the visitor.

Unique ornaments and impressive murals adorn a route that is a delight for the senses.

Hundreds of blue-glazed plant pots, adorned with geraniums and hanging petunias, enhance the white façades of some of the town’s most iconic streets.

The Town Council, through its Tourism Department, has spearheaded this project, donating plants and pots, and working to revive traditions, where the local residents are the true protagonists.

It is they, with their care and attention, and by contributing many more plants and imaginative decorations, who dedicate part of their time each day to helping create a town full of life, with more colour and joy.

The ‘Las Calles de las Flores’ project, with ever-increasing participation and community involvement, has fostered engagement and a sense of community, creating a spectacular route that makes it a first-rate tourist attraction for our region.

Over the years, Calle Juanita la Larga has been awarded first prize in the ‘Rincones’ category of the Subbética Patios, Rincones and Facades competition.

It is a great source of satisfaction that, for the third consecutive year, the judges have decided that the most beautiful spot in the whole of the Subbética region is in Doña Mencía.
