Perched on the rocky slope on which the town stands, Iznaje’s cemetery offers spectacular views of the reservoir and the Sierras Subbéticas, a feature that makes it unique and distinctive. It seems to form a natural extension of the town itself, with its narrow, steep, whitewashed streets and its tiled-roofed tombs.

It is considered one of the most beautiful in Andalusia according to the book “Cementerios de Andalucía” published by the Regional Ministry of Public Works and Transport – Directorate-General for Architecture and Housing of the Regional Government of Andalusia. 1993.

Furthermore, it is considered one of the most beautiful in Spain, ranking 6th according to Adiós Cultural magazine.
