Rafael Alberti Square

Rafael Alberti Square

Plaza con mosaico de azulejos que exhibe el poema "Torre de Iznájar". Ganó premio en el Concurso de Patios de la Subbética en 2018.

This square pays tribute to the Spanish poet Rafael Alberti. It was unveiled by the writer himself in 1989 when he returned to the town for the second time.

In 1920, Alberti visited Iznájar, where he found inspiration to write his book *La Arboleda Perdida*, which includes the poem “Torre de Iznájar” – a poem that can be seen on the tile mosaic that dominates this square. In 2018, it won second prize in the Subbética Courtyard Competition.
