Ideal for active tourism activities (canoeing, rafting, bungee jumping, canyoning, etc.).

Bridge over the Genil. The bridge spanning the River Genil is one of the most significant structures of its kind in the province of Córdoba, and indeed in Spain. It has been declared a Site of Cultural Interest (BIC), as it was uncommon in the 16th century to build bridges of this scale and perfection; For this, in addition to a great architect such as Hernán Ruiz II, chief master of the cathedrals of Córdoba and Seville, the generosity, vision and practical sense of a patron such as Diego de Bernuy, first lord of Benamejí and its founder, were required.

The bridge over the River Genil in Benamejí is a project by the Renaissance architect Hernán Ruiz II and, amongst his engineering works, the only example of a new design executed entirely by him.

The scale of this impressive bridge can be seen up close whilst walking along the paths that run alongside its side approaches.
