Roman Villa ‘El Ruedo’

Tesoro arqueológico en la Subbética Cordobesa, con mosaicos, esculturas y dos zonas: lujosa residencia y área agrícola. Ideal para amantes de la historia.

Welcome to the Roman villa of Almedinilla, an archaeological treasure located in the Subbética region of Córdoba, right in the heart of Andalusia. This impressive Roman villa stands as a living testament to the splendour and sophistication of ancient Roman civilisation.

Declared a Site of Cultural Interest, it dates from the 1st to the 7th centuries AD and boasts one of the most complete sites of its kind on the Iberian Peninsula.

Notable features include the monumental scale of its walls and the richness of its architectural elements, such as mosaics, floor tiles and paintings, as well as the collection of sculptures discovered on the site, which can be viewed at the Historical-Archaeological Museum.

Two distinct areas can be clearly identified: the ‘Pars Urbana’, corresponding to the owners’ residence, complete with every luxury, and the productive ‘Pars Rústica’ area, intended for agricultural outbuildings. Every corner reveals details of the Romans’ daily life and their refined lifestyle.

The Roman villa of Almedinilla is the perfect place for lovers of history and archaeology, as well as for those seeking to immerse themselves in the region’s rich cultural heritage. Every visit is an opportunity to travel back in time and explore the grandeur of the Roman Empire.

Don’t miss the chance to discover the Roman villa at Almedinilla. Come and enjoy an unforgettable experience in a place where the past comes to life and history becomes a tangible experience.
