Very close to the wash houses stands the Church of the Virgin of Carmen, a sacred place that has been a centre of devotion and spiritual gathering for the community of Sileras over the years. The Virgin of Carmen, patron saint of sailors and protector of those who work at sea, is venerated here with devotion and love.
