In the Cerro neighbourhood stands the birthplace of a famous flamenco singer, renowned for his history and legacy in Cordoba’s flamenco scene.

At the foot of the Cuesta de San Juan, in the Cerro neighbourhood, we find the house where the famous Cordoban flamenco singer Cayetano Muriel—better known by his stage name ‘Niño de Cabra’—was born. Regarded as the first major flamenco singer to emerge from Córdoba, he performed throughout Spain and was the first to record on shellac discs. Much loved and respected by flamenco enthusiasts for his creativity and mastery of all styles of singing, he is considered the finest performer of the fandangos of Lucena.
