Colombia Promenade

Colombia Promenade

Parque con corredores panorámicos, faroles de filigrana, jardines y fuentes diversas; destaca una pérgola y una escultura de Ganímedes.

The current layout of the Paseo de Colombia asa public parkwas designed in 1898 by Ramón Linares, who oversaw the works and encouraged private donations to fund them. The location of the promenade, at one end ofEl Adarve, determined the layout of its spaces, defined by two wide side corridors that allow visitors to admire the landscape against which semi-circular filigree lanterns stand out. The central area, lavishly landscaped, features a succession of fountains of various shapes and from different periods, which give an idea of the renovations carried out; in the latter, a pergola was erected in homage to the illustrious citizens of Priego, in front of which a bronze reproduction of Álvarez Cubero’s Ganymede has been placed.
