Dolmen of La Lastra

Dolmen of La Lastra

Único dolmen al sur de Córdoba, orientado al norte, con cámara cuadrangular y corredor estrecho, ideal para amantes de la arqueología y la historia.

It is the only dolmen in the south of the province of Córdoba and is unusual in that it faces north, unlike most others of its kind.

The dolmen at Dehesa de la Lastra is of the passage grave type, comprising a square chamber and a short, narrow, undifferentiated passage. It is small in size, with a total length of 3.72 metres, and its central axis is oriented north-north-west. The chamber is formed by three orthostats of local limestone, upon which rests a roof of the same material; the passageway, meanwhile, is formed by six orthostats of the same type of stone, suggesting the presence of a roof. The dolmen has been completely excavated and plundered, with only a few human teeth remaining.
