El Cañuelo

El Cañuelo

A historic village with a Roman fountain, the Fuente de la Salud, which still flows, attracting tourists with its charm and ancient heritage.

The existence of this village has been known since at least the 18th century, although as late as the mid-19th century it was still described as a hamlet belonging to Zamoranos, the town to which its inhabitants would travel to attend mass and receive the sacraments. Nearby lies the Fuente de la Salud, a Roman-era spring built of large ashlars, which, despite the passing of the centuries, has not run dry.
