Chapel of God the Father

Chapel of God the Father

Ermita del siglo XVIII con cúpula decorada, retablo mayor influenciado por Leonardo Antonio de Castro, y esculturas destacadas como el Sagrado Lavatorio.

This chapel was built in 1718 to a design by Leonardo Antonio de Castro, under the patronage of the Bruna y Ahumada family, whose coats of arms are displayed on the spandrels of its interior dome. The church, with a single nave divided into five bays and a dome over the ante-chancel, also features a austere façade of ashlar stone and brick, topped with a pediment and bell gable. The high altarpiece bears the influence of Leonardo Antonio de Castro and was created by Francisco José Guerrero in 1762. Also noteworthy are its magnificent set of mural paintings featuring phytomorphic motifs and a votive painting of the Annunciation, also the work of Leonardo Antonio de Castro. As for the religious imagery, the sculptural group of the Sacred Lavatory, by Pedro de Mena, and the image of Our Lady of the Star, by José Verdiguier, stand out.
