Cabra Bullring

Cabra Bullring

An old bullring with a 16-sided polygonal layout, a 43-metre arena and a capacity of 6,167, ideal for lovers of bullfighting history.

This is the oldest bullring in the province of Córdoba. It was inaugurated on 24 June 1857 by Francisco Arjona Guillén ‘Cuchares’ and Antonio Sánchez ‘Tato’. It underwent refurbishments in 1888 and 1904, when the wooden barriers were removed and a 2-metre-wide passageway was built. This bullring is characterised by its 16-sided polygonal shape; the arena measures 43 metres and has a capacity of 6,167 spectators, classifying it as a third-category venue. It is worth noting, as a curious fact, that the master Manolet made his public debut here on Easter Sunday in 1931.
