Las Piedras - Palomares

Las Piedras - Palomares

A 6 km de Rute, dos aldeas ofrecen vistas espectaculares de la Sierra Horconera y la Tiñosa, con casas blancas y una ermita para la romería de San Isidro.

About 6 km from Rute, heading towards Carcabuey, lie two small villages situated very close to one another. The first of these, Palomares, is situated on a hill known as Molehón Chico, offering spectacular views of the Sierra Horconera in Rute. Here you can see a small chapel which serves as the venue for the traditional pilgrimage of San Isidro Labrador.

Las Piedras is situated a few metres further on, also on a hill. It is one of the most typical villages, with its whitewashed houses and narrow streets lined with the stones that give the village its name. You can enjoy wonderful views of the entire Sierra de Rute, Horconera and La Tiñosa.
