Chapel of Saint Sebastian
This small chapel stands opposite the Parish Church of Santa Catalina and is now part of the Juan Cristóstomo Mangas Care Home. Its construction, linked to that of the hospital of the same name, must have taken place around 1582, the year the statutes of the brotherhood that ran it were drawn up.
A single-nave structure, its main feature lies in its richly decorated ceilings, which consist of two sections of lowered barrel vaults with lunettes, plus a third segmented vault corresponding to the chancel. The entire surface is covered with gold-coloured mural paintings of plant motifs, complemented by plasterwork in certain areas; the work bears the hallmark of Cecilio Antonio Franco Roldán.
The small altarpiece presiding over the chapel is in the 18th-century Baroque style, centred on an academic-sized image of the Crucified Christ from the early 17th century, flanked by paintings depicting the childhood of Christ, with a small image of the patron saint in the pediment.
