LA ACEÑA

Molino harinero renacentista con escudo antiguo, ideal para admirar arquitectura histórica y disfrutar de un entorno pintoresco.

Commissioned by Diego de Bernuy and designed by the renowned Renaissance architect Hernán Ruiz II, this magnificent stone watermill was built; its façade features one of the oldest and most distinctive Bernuy coats of arms, carved into the stone. There is little documentation from the period regarding the characteristics of this notable flour mill, apart from a notarial deed from 1889 recording the sale of the mill by Juan de Dios de Bernuy Jiménez de Coca, 9th Marquis of Benamejí, to Manuel Barreiro Royo for the sum of 15,000 pesetas. who in turn sold half of the said property to Toribio Herrero López. Among other things, this public document describes the flour mill.
