On the street of the same name, on the corner with Plaza de San Miguel, there is a bust dedicated to the Lucena-born writer Luís Barahona de Soto. The sculpture was created in 1961 by the sculptor Amadeo Ruiz Olmos.
Luís Barahona de Soto was born in Lucena in 1545 and is one of the greatest poets of the late Renaissance, author of ‘Las lágrimas de Angélica’.
