Church of Our Lady of Sorrows
Built in the Rococo style, it was founded in 1773 by Josefa del Mármol with the intention of providing a church for the image of the Virgin of Sorrows. Construction was completed in 1775 and the interior decoration in 1778. The church consists of a singlenave with a cross-vault and lunettes; at the apse is a fluted dome resting on a cornice. The design of the church and the altarpieces is attributed to Juan de Dios Santaella. In the niche, the principal sculptural group is from the late18th-century Granada school, with the figure of Christ belonging to the circle of José de Mora. On the bench are two magnificent figures of theVirgin and Saint Josephholding the Child, works by José Risueño from the 18th century. Thefaçadeis made of coloured marble, in two sections, also by Santaella.
