ROSARY CHAPEL
At the foot of the castle stands this chapel, which houses the town’s patron saint.
The Hermitage of the Rosary is located just a few minutes’ walk from Plaza de España and the Parish Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, next to the Castle. The Hermitage of the Rosary has a Latin cross plan with side chapels in the nave of the main arm, many of which are currently closed. It is covered by a barrel vault, with a half-dome at the crossing. The façade features a linteled doorway flanked by two Tuscan columns supporting a cymatium with triglyphs and a full entablature. Above this is a deeply recessed split pediment, which serves as the base for the coat of arms of the Counts of Luque.
It houses the Virgin of the Rosary, Patron Saint of Luque, and Our Father Jesus of Nazareth.
